Three Generations, Generating Success
Who We Are
Tarbell Management Group is a proud Mohawk family-owned enterprise whose roots trace back to 1953 on the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory. Our story began with our matriarch and founder, Theresa Lazore Guthrie, affectionately known as Theresa Bear, who opened a modest two-pump fuel station and gift shop serving travelers and bridge workers during construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway.
In the 1970s, her eldest son, Eli Tarbell, expanded the business and laid the foundation for future generations. Today, the company continues under the leadership of Brandon and Justin Tarbell, alongside Mark and Marcelo, carrying that vision forward while honoring the values that shaped our beginnings.
Over the years, TMG has grown into a multi-faceted organization operating across tobacco, petroleum, and convenience while staying grounded in the responsibilities that come with building business in Indian Country.
