The local Hotel also had the distinction of winning the National Best Breakfast Award at the 63rd Annual Convention by Choice Hotels in Las Vegas. “The team of the Comfort Inn & Suites Akwesasne and I remain committed to exceeding the expectations of all our guests and delivering excellence in the market we serve” said Jim Brann CHA, General Manager.

Owned and operated by the Tarbell Management Group, the success of the Comfort Inn & Suites Akwesasne is greatly attributed to the dedication and hard work of all of the hotel’s associates. President and CEO Brandon Tarbell commented: “We are tremendously proud of this affirmation of our associate’s commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences, year after year. This is a great accomplishment not just for our company, but for our community as well. As a Native American-owned business, located on a reservation, the challenges are greater simply due to our geographic location. The fact that Akwesasne is home to an international award winning hotel, which is also currently the #1 ranked Comfort Inn by Choice Hotels brand in all of New York State, demonstrates this community’s ability to be economic drivers in the North Country.”

The Comfort Inn contributes to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Room Occupancy Fee Ordinance of $10 per room, per night and to date has contributed over $470,000 to the Tribe. This fee is collected by the Tribe to assist in the education programming and recreation services of the membership of the SRMT as well as to support the ongoing diversification of Akwesasne’s economy through the Creating Akwesasne Tourism Industry Businesses and Jobs Initiative.
